(Reporter Yang Jing )On the morning of Sep. 12th, the press conference of the film Valley of Destiny in Yichang was held in Beijing, where the movie was announced to enter the preparatory phase, which was scheduled to release late next year. The film was co-produced by China Film Group Corporation, Day Light Entertainment, Yichang Three Gorges Television Media Co., Ltd. and Hubei Yangtze River Film Group, and China Film Group Corporation was responsible for publicity and release of the movie.

　　Many officials attended the press conference, including Zhou Jiandong, deputy director of Film Administration of State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, Zhang Liangcheng and Yang Chenqing, director and deputy director respectively of Hubei Provincial Press and Publication, Radio and TV, Chen Dunliang who is chairman of Hubei Yangtze River Film Group, Ma Xuming, member of Municipal Committee and mayor, Liao Dafeng and Wang Yinghua. Lai Peikang, director of China Film Group Corporation, executive producer Han Sanping, screenwriter Lan Xiaolong, director Kong Sheng, and producer Hou Hongliang all attended the Launching Ceremony, and communicated with nearly 100 media about the detail of the movie.

　　Authorized by Huang Chuping, member of Provincial Standing Committee and secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Ma Xuming, deputy secretary of Municipal Party Committee and Yichang mayor, Wang Yinghua, on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the government, extended welcome to the presented officials, distinguished guests and friends from press circle.

　　Wang said, the film would roll out a historical story on the Anti-Japanese War in Yichang and praise the sons and daughters of Yichang who heroically gave their lives for Chinese nation. It would also panoramically present the picturesque mountains and rivers as well as the Ba and Chu culture with distinct local features. Since Yichang was the place where the story took place, we would be certain to support the filming with the concerted efforts of the whole city.

　　 zhou Jiandong said in his speech that recently the movies on Anti-Japanese War had attracted great attention from leaders at all levels and various circles of the society, and many excellent movies had sprung up which became influential media to carry forward the nation spirit and the tradition of patriotism. We heartily hoped that the production team could devote themselves to the shooting, with sheer enthusiasm and aspiration for excellence.The screenplay should be deliberately revised so as to lay a solid foundation for the shooting. Zhou hoped that all parties including the producer and the filming crew could complete the scene establishment as well as cast selection as soon as possible through full cooperation, thus ensuring a smooth shooting.

　　Zhou thanked Party Committees and governmentsat all levelsof Hubei Province and Yichang City for their support and guidance during the filming and preparation. He also thanked the press friends for their high attention, publicizing and reporting. He said the Film Administration would continuously give great support to the production of the movie, and hoped that, with the involvement of all parties, the movie could be a masterpiece in the field of war films and breakthrough could be made during the process in the field of domestic political films. "We believe that this war movie will certainly be a excellent artwork with profound thoughts and exquisite craftsmanship, which will serve as a strong spiritual support encouraging us to forge ahead," said Yang Chenqing. Yang said in his speech that, under the support of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, an outstanding team of production, shooting and publicizing had been successfully established, which laid a solid foundation for the success of the movie. He hoped that, according to the established work schemes and filming plans, the cooperative parties could collaborate and interact with each other and step up the pace, striving to make this movie an excellent one and harvest both social and economic benefits.

　　 Valley of Fate in Yichang is based on the historical story of the "Stone Tablet Defending War", which started from the loss of Nanjing in 1938, large transport in Yichang to the fall of Yichang and Stone Tablet Defending War over a six-year period. The movie tells a story about how the sons and daughters of Yichang dauntlessly fight against the enemies and guard the country at the risk of their lives when their nation and families are facing grave crisis between life and death. It is not only an artistic way to unfold the history, but also a way to salute and yearn the people who created the history.
