According to the Xinhua News Agency (reporter You Zhixin reported in Shanghai), the SDR (Special Drawing Rights)new currency basket(system) from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), will come into effect since October 1st and the RMB will enter into the ‘basket’(system) from now on.

On November 30th last year, the Executive Board of IMF decided to incorporate the RMB into the currency ‘basket’(system), with the proportion of 10.92%.

On September 30th, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will work out the amount of various currencies, according to the monetary proportion and the corresponding formula provided by the Executive Board of Directors.

According to the new method, the monetary proportion such as that of dollar, euro, yen, pound and RMB will be re-determined with slight adjustment.
