176 Illegal Wharves Banned in the City
2016-11-15 11:52:52
On November 8th , the reporter learned from the City Port Authority that the city has been strongly promoting the management of the Yangtze River to get rid of tributaries’ illegal wharves since this year, which includes the ban on the Yangtze River and tributaries’ 176 wharves, shutting down 143 wharves, such as Shashi wharvf, Liucao wharvf and Mei wharvf etc. This measure has effectively facilitated the improvement of the ecological environment along the Yangtze River.
It’s known that a total of 160 people have formed a joint law enforcement team which carried out 32 joint enforcement activities, 286 law enforcement investigations and dealing with illegal 27 ships since a special management of illegal wharves has been launched, which has blocked the wharves’ illegal business channel from the source. The central city area greened the Yangtze River’s regulation shoreline and achieved the goal of "Making the Binjiang green, returning the green shore to people.”
Some districts, such as Dianjun District, Yiling District, Wu Jiagang District, Gaoxing District, Zhijiang city and etc. have adopted the "intensive cultivation" approach, implemented the clean-up restoration and afforestation along the river shoreline and land areas after taking such a treatment. Now the river has taken a new look.
