The Fourth Generation “Thousand-handed Goddess” Dance Stunning the World
2016-11-15 11:55:54
“We hope to spread the message of love to every part of the world”, a student from Yichang Special Education School, affiliated to China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe (CDPPAT), said with her sign language and fragmented pronunciation. As members of the fourth generation “Thousand-handed Goddess”, she and her school mates just finished their performance in Cuba and UK and came back to Yichang on Nov.9th, 2016. The group of special students expressed and transmitted love with their body language, showing people around the world the bloom and strength of life.
Senior grade one students of art class from the Affiliated School of CDPPAT brought Havana, Cuba an amazing performance on Sep. 25th, 2016. And after a short break of training, they left for the UK in October and brought the Rehabilitation International World Congress an impressive audio-visual feast of dance and won thunderous applause with their three performances — “Thousand-handed Goddess”, “Spirit of Peacock” and “Ballet with Sign Language”. They also took photos with Zhang Haidi, chairman of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation and new president of Rehabilitation International.
It is learnt that CDPPAT and Yichang Municipal Government co-founded the Affiliated School of CDPPAT in 2013. With the help of teachers from the troupe and the school, the students are not only offered basic secondary education but also trained with dancing systematically to reach professional level.
