On Nov. 12th, a central news media team “Investigating Made-in-China 2025” came to Yichang for a report on how Yichang has carried out “Made in China 2025” and sped up upgrading its manufacturing sector, and for discovery stories about “Made in Yichang”. Deputy Secretary and mayor of Yichang Ma Xuming took the interview.
Ma Xuming made an introduction to the reporting team about Yichang’s development in economy and industry during the 12th Chinese Five-year Plan, highlighting the measures to carry out “Made in China 2025” in five aspects. With emphasis on top-level design and strengthening of leading function of planning, he said, Yichang has formulated The Outline of Action Plan for Made in China 2025, which states that Yichang will build a group of manufacturing companies and advanced manufacturing clusters with strong international competitive advantages, and will build manufacturing innovation centers with regional and national leadership by 2025. By innovation-driving and strengthening of endogenous power, Yichang will actively build National Innovative Pilot City and set up platform for collaborative innovation, providing one-stop and comprehensive service for high-level talents and entrepreneurial teams. With emphasis on integration of informatization and industrialization and strengthening of intelligent manufacturing, Yichang will organize “Yichang Broadband” to promote intelligent manufacturing. Today Yichang has successfully fostered 54 above-province-level pilot model enterprises working on integration of informatization and industrialization, 20 of which have carried out reformation of intelligent factory and workshop. By advocating green development and strengthening of sustainable development, Yichang has efficiently propelled traditional manufacturing industry to fully implement cleaner production and quickly move into the industrial park to develop circulating economy and enhance green industry. With emphasis on supporting service and strengthening of policy support, Yichang has issued policies, such as “Eight Policies about Industry”, “12 Policies about Industrial Park”, policy about lowering burdens of industrial enterprises, and promotes policy energy to release precisely.
According to Ma, “Made in Yichang” has fostered five champion products in the world, four in Asia and six in China, and two occupying the leading position in domestic market. He also emphatically introduced model enterprises and leading brands that are made in Yichang, including Xingfa Group, Angel Yeast Co., Ltd., Humanwell Healthcare (Group) Co., Tianmei international Co. Ltd., Hubei Sanning Chemi Industry Co. Ltd., Yihua Group, CSG Holding Co. Ltd., Hubei Huaqiang High-Tech Co. Ltd.
During their stay in Yichang, the reporting team experienced the biggest ship lift in the world---Three Gorges ship lift. One of the reporters took an experiment to test its stability: putting a coin vertically on prow when the ship went into chamber and dropped vertically for over 100 meter within ten minutes. The reporting team were amazed that the coin never fell. Then they visited Yichang Marine Diesel Engine Co. Ltd., one of the most powerful manufacturing enterprises of low speed diesel engine with small and medium cylinder bores. Attracted by the enterprise’s courage to make innovation, reformation and moves to explore international market of intelligent manufacturing, the reporters took many pictures and raised many questions.
