The 9th Global Conference on Health Promotion(9GCHP), which was sponsored by the WHO and the State Planning Commission, hosted by Shanghai Municipal Government, was held in Shanghai international conference center from 21st  to 24th of November. Wuhan, Yichang, and Xiangyang participated in the conference, of which Yichang is the only national pilot health city of Hubei province.

　　Wang Guobin, permanent member of Municipal Party Committee, deputy mayor, on behalf of Yichang, attended the opening ceremony, plenary meeting and participated in the mayor forum, where more than 100 mayors of health cities at home and abroad took part in, and they jointly signed the Shanghai Consensus of Healthy City. Wang Guobin was invited as a special guest to attend to the parallel conference of mayor forum which was on the theme of "science promotes healthier city". During the conference, he introduced the advancement of healthy city in Yichang under the support of science and technology, innovation and new technology and he also answered questions raised by the audiences.

　　In November of this year, Yichang was identified as one of the first batch of pilot cities by National Patriotic Health Office, and Yichang is the only pilot city in Hubei province. According to reports, the “healthy city” is a comprehensive “update version" of state sanitation city. The meeting was attended by Chinese national leaders, more than 190 member countries’ senior government officials of WHO, senior officials of the international organizations, authoritative experts in the field of health promotion, and the total number of representatives amounted to more than 1100.
