  On November 22, the reporter saw that stalls selling pork and vegetables were equipped with unified special scales which could follow the sources of Yichang’s meats and vegetables in the food market of Longzhong Road in the urban area of Yichang. After their shopping, citizens could ask for their receipts from vendors, on which marked stalls’ numbers, goods’ names、weights、prices、time and so on in detail. They could inquire on the EQM of Yichang’s meats-and-vegetables sources trace in the food market. According to the points appearing on the EQM, firstly please click Inquiry to access the system, click Ok after input the Trace Code on the price tickets. After that some related information could appeared on the EQM, for example, if you inquired the information about pork, you could inquire some information like breeding bases, slaughterhouses, owners of goods, retail terminals, vendors, etc.

  When goods’ entrance and being weighed in the Three Gorges Logistics Park, the system would print a receipt, on which marked the approach time, names of owners of goods, markets’ numbers, weight and so on. Merchants could handle the service card towards Yichang’s meat-and-vegetable sources’ following, and this card could record and transmit related products’ information to the next related people.
 

  So where has the related system set up? At present, the trace subsystems have been designed and installed on a total of 76 current nodes in the urban area of Yichang, including 2 slaughterhouses, 1 wholesale vegetable market, 13 standardized food markets, 3 distribution centers and 25 stores of 3 large-scale supermarkets, 30 group purchase units and 2 connecting enterprises of production and marketing, which could collect the trace information of pork and vegetables’ circulation and standardize the trading process in each link, the director of the meats-and-vegetables trace system project in the Municipal Commercial Bureau told the reporter.

  The slaughtering enterprises included the Shineway in urban areas of Yichang and slaughterhouses in Yichang Fujiangnan Food Limited Liability Company; while the wholesale market was the Three Gorges Logistic Park; the supermarket’s node has achieved the system construction in the distribution center of 3 chain supermarkets like the Beishan Convenience, Guo Mao, Ya Si and 25 subordinate stores; Farmer’s market’s node has completed the construction, equipment installation and debugging, site training and reliable work of electronic scales’ traces of 13 farmer’s markets in the South Lake, Wujiagang, 403, Longzhong Road, Nanyuan, Dongmen, Sifangyan, Center of Gezhouba, Baotahe, Dongshan Garden, Gangwu, Ziyang, Tanjiahe.; the connecting enterprises of production and marketing were Yichang Shanlilai Food Limited Liability Company and Yi Jia Vegetable Basket Co.Ltd. in Hubei province.

  To ensure the “trustworthy scales” besides sources tracing

  Inquiry of tracing vegetables’ source was not the whole function in this trace system. Wu Xiaoxian, the division marshal of Business and Law Enforcement Detachment of the Municipal Commercial Bureau, told the reporter that the government freely provided nearly 3000 RMB for those supermarkets and farmer’s markets, and merchants of the Three Gorges Logistic Park with nearly 20 thousand RMB’s worth of electronic scale deserving, the most Chinese advanced technical equipment has been used in these electronic scales to ensure unscrupulous vendors not to debug the scale at random and let citizens enjoy the benefits of trustworthy scales while shopping.

  She introduced that after the Sources Trace System of Vegetable and Meats was founded, the quality of the pork and vegetables which were sold in supermarkets and food markets would be given more effective regulation, as long as the supermarkets and the food markets were subordinated to the Source Trace System of Vegetables and Meats.

  Staffs who worked in the Law Enforcement Detachment of Yichang’s Commercial Bureau alerted the residents that, they should ask for the shopping receipt (with source tracing code) when they purchase meats and vegetables to secure their interests, especially in the farm produce fair.

  Do you know the sources of the pork and vegetables when you purchase in the food market or in the supermarket? On November 22, from the site meeting of the Leading Group on Building the Source Trace System of Meats and Vegetables, the reporter got the news that Yichang, served as the test unit of third batch of building the source trace system, has accomplished the constructing assignment of 76 current nodes in building source trace system of meats and vegetables. The system was put into trial run period for which the customers could asking for shopping receipts printing with QR code, scanning the QR code or carrying related query the sources of the meats and the vegetables could be learned.
