On Nov. 22nd, the journalist learned from the Vehicle Management Office, Traffic Police Detachment, City Public Security Bureau that the Ministry of Public Security will start the pilot use of new energy vehicles license plate. From Dec. 1st, 2016, five cities, including Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuxi, Jinan and Shenzhen will be among the first to do so. Though the pilot cities are not included, citizens in Yichang are expected to enjoy this new deal in the second half of 2017.

　　According to the principal of Vehicle Management Office in Yichang, in order to express the meaning of “green initiative”, the new energy license plate is mainly in green. And it increases the private identification and applies new anti-counterfeit technology so that it can clarify different managements, help to identify, as well as highlight the new energy features and technological innovation. Also, the small size of the new energy vehicle license plate’s background is gradient green, while the big one’s is yellow and green. Compared with the ordinary one with five numbers, the new energy vehicle license plate increased to six. The new license plate has more numbers’ capacity, more abundant resources and more scientific and reasonable coding rules, which can meet the needs of “less use of numbers, more use of numbers”. Each license plate maintains 100 yuan because its production cost hasn’t changed and they still implement the existing regulations of ordinary automobile license plate charges.
