(Reporter Pei Shujing; correspondent Dong Changqing) On December 7th, it is learned from the City Health Insurance Authority that 21,641 yuan per person per year has been established as the standard for the second medical subsidies for urban residents, which means if a patient’s individual payment of medical expenses exceeds 21,641yuan, he or she can get 50% subsidies from the government for the extra amount of the medical expenses, but the maximum subsidies will not exceed 80,000 yuan.

　　According to the Secondary Subsidy Measures on Basic Medical Insurance for Yichang Urban Residents, insured residents in Yichang will be subsided under the situation that hospitalization or serious chronic disease outpatient treatment in line with the relevant provisions of medical insurance within one year. If an insured patient has paid more than 21,641yuan on his own, he is eligible to get 50% subsidies from the government for the extra amount of the medical expenses. 21,461 yuan is half amount of the annual average salary of urban residents of the previous year (The annual average salary for the year 2016 is 43,282 yuan).

　　As for the medical expenses incurred in the year 2016, the insured patients can apply to their working units or communities for the subsidies from January to February 2017, and can also go to the Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau for the application.
