Over 400 Village Level E-commerce Service Centers Established

  On 13th December, the reporter learned from the press conference themed as "building supply and marketing business platform, serving the development of agriculture, farmers and rural areas" held by Yichang Supply and Marketing Cooperatives that more than 1190 village level comprehensive service centers of supply and marketing cooperatives have been built in Yichang, covering the city's 88.29% administrative villages; and the coverage rate of village level comprehensive service centers reached 95%, of which over 458 are standard village level e-commerce service centers providing a good platform for the development of rural e-commerce.
 
  In recent years, the supply and marketing cooperatives have made great efforts to foster e-commerce market, and counties, townships, and villages’ e- commerce network architectures were built to boost the development of “agriculture, farmers and rural areas". Yichang Supply and Marketing Cooperative has set up 8 e-commerce companies with the investment of about 28 million yuan , and the sales of agricultural and sideline products are 1.045 billion yuan with the help of e-commerce channel. At the same time, Yichang Supply and Marketing Cooperative aims to build rural electronic commerce network terminal to establish village level e-commerce center by improving the online shopping, logistics transfer, and acquisition of farm products of village level comprehensive service centers.
 
  This year, the?Municipal?Party Committee?and?the?Government has listed the e-commerce poverty alleviation as the sixteenth critical specified work for poverty alleviation. Taking the e-commerce enterprises as the starting point, the Yichang Supply and Marketing System double their efforts to help the poor village expand the sale channels of farm products and the supply channels of production and living materials through e-commerce, support the development of farmer?specialized cooperative?society and guide the large-scale production in order to build brand for the marketable products.
