The reporter learned from Yichang Petroleum Branch Company of Sinopec that the company has completed its upgrade and replacement of 1 oil depot and 182 gas stations for “National Standard V” motor gasoline and diesel. From today on, the vehicles of our city begin to “drink” new standard oil.
It is learned that after the replacement, No.93 and No.97 motor gasoline of “National Standard IV” commonly used by consumers will disappear in the market and be replaced respectively by No.92, No.95 and No.97 of the new standard. But there is no change in the number of motor diesel. The vehicles which used No.93 gasoline can use that of No.92 or No.95 as new alternatives, while those that used No.97 gasoline can use No.95 and No.98 gasoline instead. Some high-end vehicles which have high compression ratio and higher requirement for acceleration can choose No.98 gasoline. Owners do not need to clean oil tank and oil circuit when replacing oil, because the replacement will be done after filling new oil for 2 or 3 times. During the period of oil upgrade and replacement, the new standard oil will be sold at the old prices.
According to the related official in charge, after the petrol upgrade, the sulfur content in the standard vehicle gasoline and diesel will be reduced by 80%. At least 10% nitrogen oxides emission reduction will be accomplished. Not only emissions of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and particulate matters will be effectively controlled, but also the emissions of PM2.5 from the exhaust gas will be reduced directly, which can help reduce the pollution of environment with effect.
