2017-03-06 15:17:49

At 15:38 February 23rd, 2017, with slowly moving of the 500HD rotary drill, the construction of the north pile foundation of the Yangtze River Bridge of Wujiagang District starts to be built ,which witnesses the commencement of the bridge’s construction.

Entering the Yangtze River construction site of north bank, we can see the nearby workers are working on the welding of the steel cage of the bridge’s main tower and the constructors far away are busy working on the huge rotary drill.

“The whole country only boasts 5 HD500 rotary drills, two of which have been introduced into the construction site to ensure the process and quality of the whole project. We will spare no effort to fulfill the construction of the main tower of the north pile foundation before the flood season in May”, says Yuan Qinghua, the chief construction engineer of Yichang’ s construction committee. At present, the 2.5 kilometer-long and 7 meter-wide pioneer road is accessible for the large equipment to enter the construction site.

Yangtze River Bridge of Wujiagang District, whose gross investment hits 3.366 billion, is the ninth Yangtze River Bridge in Yichang. The 2.813 kilometer-long and 31.5meter-wide bridge is 6,3 kilometers away from the Yangtze River Highway Bridge along the upstream. The constructors adopted the plan of building suspension bridge with the main span of 1,160 meters. The bridge, under the guidance of the Third Bureau of China Construction and the Second Administration of China Shipping, is to be completed in four years. When the bridge puts into operation, the central loop of Yichang will come into being and the three loops (including inside loop, central loop and outside loop) of Yichang is about to take shape, therefore the express road network of Yichang with three longitudinal and five horizontal lines will be eventually formed.(Reporter: Chen cheng ; Correspondent: Ai hua, Du yanli )
