Sixth Peach Blossom Culture Festival to be Held in CTGU
2017-03-28 15:58:09

While spring breeze is blowing from Yangtze River and peaches are blossoming on thousands of trees. On March 25th, China Three Gorges University (CTGU) will hold the sixth Peach Blossom Culture Festival with the theme of “peach blossom and home”. On that day, besides traditional talent shows performed by foreign students and cultural display presented in exhibition shed, other diverse activities such as Chinese ancient poetry game will also be organized to enhance the public participation and cultural atmosphere.

It is reported that CTGU has planted nearly one thousand peach trees since 2005, most of which grow around Qiusuo River, and has hosted Peach Blossom Festival 5 times since 2012. On that day, some "flash" performances, such as impromptu dance, sings, catwalk model and rap, will be performed by foreign and Chinese students associations on the stages or under exhibition sheds located among the "peach gallery". Teachers and students from over 30 different countries will show their culture with their own national symbols (such as representative persons and animals), videos, objects, music, dances and field food. In addition, some objects or gifts with different ethnic cultural characteristics will be sold or presented in exhibition shed. Under the exhibition sheds, visitors can also gain prizes by joining in the poetry game designed similarly to the mode of recent Chinese Ancient Poetry Contest, with the themes of “spring, peach blossom and Three Gorges”.
