It is learned from Yichang Municipal Bureau of Commerce on April 17th that, the registered catering enterprises amount to 17,000 in Yichang at present and their total retail sales of social consumer goods approximated 15 billion last year, which mainly consist of two parts: hotel catering and social catering. And their type of operation, with traditional Chinese food being the main stream enriched by foreign special delicacies, has initially formed a pattern with local food, exotic food and food from external districts complementing and integrating with each other and developing together.
In recent years, Yichang’s main catering enterprises have been actively introducing new service concepts, new management methods and new operational forms, such as the management modes like “6T”, “4D” and “6 Usuals”. Meanwhile, with the continuous integration of modern catering elements and Yichang’s characteristics, such innovative forms and management concepts as fashion-themed restaurants, Chinese and Western snacks, buffets, hot-pots, barbecue and farm stay are emerging to meet the citizens’ diverse needs for delicacies.
For years, Yichang’s catering enterprises have been committed to the characterization and branding of their service and the catering brand effect is continuously revealing. Last year, Own Brand Catering Company and Poly Weng Weng Catering Company were recognized as China’s Excellent Entrepreneur in Food and Beverage Industry by China Cuisine Association.
