The sun rises at end of the gorges as the clouds opens, the city appears as the mountains become flat and the rivers turn wide. Yichang, an important node city locating in the Yangtze river economic belt, has the history of more than 2400 years and it has been renowned as the“Gateway to the Three Gorges”and the“Pearl of the Gorges”. It has been the material distribution center and the transportation junction of the west of Hubei province and the east of Sichuan province. With the construction of the worldclass project—Three Gorges Dam completed in Yichang, it achieved the title of“The Hydroelectric City in the World”.

　　Yichang is one of the hometowns and the resources of the tea known as one of the three World’s beverages and because of the force of the nature, Yichang has the picturesque scenery, the rich vegetation, the fertile land and the mild climate, which provides the advantaged growing environment and the fine quality of Yichang tea. In the 18th century, Yichang was famous to produce the“Yi Black Tea”which is listed as one of the China’s three greatest black tea. In the recent periods, Yichang tea was once transported along the Yangtze River to the European countries and it was regarded as the top-grade tea. Until the modern times, the“Caihua Maojian”produced in Yichang is awarded as“The First Brand of Hubei Famous Tea.”and it also becomes one of the China’s twelve top-class tea with the West Lake Longjing Tea and the Yunnan Puer tea. In 2009,“ Caihua Maojian”was confirmed as the specially provided tea by the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

　　Nowadays, Yichang is listed as one of the programming“Distinctive and Important Tea Export Region”in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River by the Ministry of Agriculture. The area of Yichang tea is up to 890,000 mu and the production reaches to 70000 tons with the synthesize production value exceeding 110 billion. In the casual inspections held by the Ministry of Agriculture, the percent of pass on the safety of quality is more than 99.7% , which meets the standard of exporting to EU. In 2016, under the strategies of“Internet Plus”and“One Belt, One Road”, the exports of Yichang tea is up to 260,000,00 dollars through the China- European great passageway and the“Silk Roads”. Its markets cover Russia, United Arab Emirates, Britain, Morocco and other countries and regions in Asia, Europe and Africa.

　　“Yichang Tea, Smell Sweet around World”. In order to carry forward the strategy“Improving the Green Tea, Promoting the black tea and Developing the Dark Green Tea”raised by the Yichang municipal party committee and municipal government and to create Yichang to be the“World Famous, China’s First Class and Hubei’s First Place”tea city, the 2017 Yichang Tea International Trade Fair was held as scheduled. The fair invited nearly 60 international tea purchasers from 18 countries and regions to have the“one-on-one”conversation with the Yichang local tea enterprises and also visited the tea gardens of them, on one hand, to experience the process of the whole industry chains of Yichang tea and on the other hand to comprehend the long history and the international standing of Yichang tea. The 2017 Yichang Tea International Trade Fair must become the brand new platform to express the unique charm and the historical connotation of Yichang tea to the whole world and promote the internationalization of the tea transaction.
