Over 2,564,000 tourists visited Yichang during May Day Holiday and the tourism revenue was $1.02 billion, which showed year-on-year gross growth of 16.46% and 25.29% respectively. Nonetheless, City Tourism Commission did not receive any complaints about the quality of service related to tourist attractions.

　　During the holiday, many theme activities were held in Yichang. For example, Changyang Zhuoer Tourism Investment Limited Corporation carried out "Go Camping in Changyang, which included living in housing cars, pitching tents, flying kites, dancing Bashan dance around the campfire, tasting special dishes of Tujia minority, watching outdoor movies at night......and so many wonderful activities, and tourists enjoyed themselves; the "Flying over Chaibuxi Brook" held at Wufeng Chaibuxi Grand Canyon where tourists circumnavigated Chaibuxi Grand Canyon in balloons enjoying the beauty of the all-round Grand Canyon; "The First Kite Tournament of Hubei Province” held at Bailihuang Scenic Spot drew 18 professional teams to show their unique skills, which attracted a large number of tourists .

　　As temperatures rose, the rafting season was coming. Chaotianhou, Jiuwanxi rafting scenic spots opened respectively on April 27th, 28th, offering visitors a cool and interesting holiday. The tour of flowers and picking fruits trips in surrounding counties remained popular as well as the self-driving travelling, self-service trip and rural leisure travel. Many activities, such as enjoying flowers, picking fruits, going boating, going fishing and so on, held in Wufeng flowers town, Huanghua town in Yiling District, Xiaoxita Street, attracting thousands of tourists every day to experience the different folk customs and folk culture.

　　Citizens who did not want to go to the popular scenic spots also found good places for entertainment in the city. For example, Taiwan Delicacy Festival, "Delicious Food of Hubei", "Eight Views in Xiling" wedding photography contest and other marketing activities were held in Xiling District; Comic-Con，Three Gorges International Auto Show and other activities were held one after another in 715 creative garden, which enriched the holiday life of visitors.

　　In addition, with the increased focus on tourism poverty alleviation, Zhangjiakou of Yiling District, Shangfengjian in Dianjun District, Shizhu in Zigui County, and other tourism poverty alleviation key villages have also become the preferred destinations of tourists. Nanyang Town of Xingshan County, a provincial poverty village, with family travel as its feature, attracted over 200 tourists during the holiday based on the advantage of its resources making this unknown village a popular place for tourists.
