On May 1, the reporter got news from the Resources Bureau that Yichang has built up five geoparks which respectively were Yangtze Three Gorges National Geopark, Hubei Wufeng National Geopark, Hubei Changyang Qingjiang National Geopark, Zhangjiawan Aquatic Reptile Fossils Provincial Geopark in Yuan'an, Hubei and Dangyang Baibao Cottage Provincial Geopark.

　　According to the report, in order to protect geological relics, Yichang government has organized Wufeng county, Changyang county, Yuan'an county, Dangyang county, etc.( cities, districts) to declare six national, provincial protection items of geoparks or geological relics, all of which have been approved and the fund of over 50 million RMB was subsidized in total. Up to now, the implementation of protection projects of five parks have been completed with the investment of more than 30 million RMB, the park hiking path of 30 thousand meters, and 20 thousand-meter protective fence of geological relics have been constructed, more than 200 signs have been newly built or renovated, and over 100 thousand copies of promotional material of geoparks have been printed.
