The formal competition of the second national fishing competition entitled “Xiang jing yuan·Tian yuan qian chuan” has been held in Xiang jing yuan, an eco-agricultural park of Fenxiang Town, Yiling District, which comes after its opening ceremony and rehearsal launched one day ago, as the reporter learned from the Yichang Municipal Sports Bureau on May. 12th.

　　The competition is one of the top races of its kind. This year, the scale of the competition has been doubled compared with that of last year. Altogether 60 prizes have been awarded to the top 60 groups. The total prize amount reaches 200,000 yuan, of which the highest prize of the individual game winner reaches 100,000 yuan. 268 teams (two participants forming a team) from all parts of the country have taken part in the competition, among whom more than 20 participants have had the title of “National Fishing Master”. The participants use the 5.4-meter-long fishing rods to rival with each other based on the weight of the fishes they catch. The Yichang City Fishing Association have provided the participants with fishing gear, raincoats, mountaineering supplies and other fishing necessities, all of which are worth 40,000 yuan and used for the opening ceremony, evening bonfire party, karaoke and prize draw after the completion.(Reporter Bian Jianxin; correspondent Zhou Yong)
