On 14th August, the reporter learned from the Yichang Customs that there exists a sustained recovery on the foreign trade of Yichang. The total import and export of Yichang during the first half of this year has reached 7.9 billion RMB, accounting for 5.6% of the total foreign trade value of Hubei Province, of which the total export value mounts to 6,830 million RMB while the total import value hits 1,070 million RMB.

　　What are the features and the development tendency of the foreign trade of Yichang? Here is the story.

　　The fantastic performance of processing trade has forcefully supported the sustained recovery of foreign trade.

　　In June 2017, the foreign trade of Yichang shows the trend of recovery. The total foreign trade value hits 1,660 million RMB, an increase of 9.4%. Among them, the export and import value are 1.48 billion yuan (an increase of 7.8%) and 180 million yuan (an increase of 23.8%) respectively.

　　The dramatic increase is attributed to the substantial margin increase in processing trade of Yichang in June 2017. The total import and export value hits 240 million, an increase of 58.1%, of which the export value in processing trade reaches 170 million RMB, an increase of 45.7%. Meanwhile, the import value has doubled, reaching 70 million RMB.

　　During the first half of 2017, the processing trade of Yichang witnessed a tremendous change. The total foreign trade of processing trade hits 1.58 billion RMB, a dramatic increase of 60.2%, which is of much help to the development of the foreign trade of Yichang. The export value of processing trade has reached 1.15 billion RMB, an increase of 66% and the import value has reached 430 million RMB, an increase of 46.6%.

　　With the rapid growth in mechanical and electrical products, the total import and export value of joint venture enterprise has met a sharp increase.

　　In the first half of 2017, the total import and export value of joint venture enterprise has surged to 820 million RMB, an increase of 83.3%, of which the export value and import value cover 620 million RMB and 200 million RMB respectively.

　　The substantial growth in chemical products and high value-added products are the main reason of the rapid growth in the total foreign trade value in Yichang. The value of the import and export of chemical products has reached 460 million RMB (an increase of 98.8%). The value of the import and export of mechanical and electrical products hits 230 million RMB, an increase of 76.3%. The value import and export of new high-tech product has mounted to 210 million RMB, an increase of 4.3 times,

　　Besides, the state-owned enterprises and foreign-owned enterprises also have achieved growth. The value of import and export of state enterprise has reached 2.67 billion RMB, an increase of 8.4%, accounting for 33.8% of the total import and export value of Yichang city in the same period of 2017. The value of import and export of foreign-owned enterprises in Yichang has attained 520 million RMB, an increase of 1.8%.

　　Deep implementation of the one–belt and one-road policy

　　ASEAN has become the first biggest trade partner of Yichang.

　　At Present, ASEAN has been the first biggest trade partner of Yichang city. The bilateral trade of Yichang and ASEAN has reached 1.37 billion RMB, accounting for 17.3% of the total value of Yichang’s foreign trade.

　　Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia are the top four countries with the most extensively bilateral trade cooperation with Yichang city. The total value of foreign trade between Yichang and those countries are 350 million RMB, 280million RMB, 260 million RMB and 210 million RMB respectively.

　　The cooperation with the countries along the one Belt and one Road shows a growing tendency. The total value of bilateral trade between Yichang and Thailand reaches 350 million RMB, an increase of 53.4%. The bilateral trade value with Pakistan is 320 million RMB, about 1.1 times of the former trade value. With an increase of 53.4%, the bilateral trade with Vietnam hits 280 million RMB. The bilateral trade between Yichang and Russia has increased by 52.4%, which makes the value of bilateral trade reach 130 million RMB. The total value bilateral trade between Yichang and EU is 1, 04 billion RMB, an increase of 4.5%.

　　With the benefit of customs tariff policy, the international competiveness of fertilizer products has been enhanced.

　　In 2017, the cancellation policy of some fertilizer export tariff is of much benefit to those fertilizer production enterprises of Yichang, which has enhanced the international competitiveness of the fertilizer products.

　　In the first half of 2017, the total export value of fertilizer product hits 1.74 billion RMB, an increase of 35.8%. Pakistan, India, Japan, Peru, and Brazil are the major import countries of the fertilizer products of Yichang. The import value of those countries is 260 million RMB, 250 million RMB, 170 million RMB, 130 million RMB and 130 million RMB respectively, of which Brazil ranks the first, an increase of 11 times.

　　Meanwhile, the export of high-value-added products has also met a steady growth. For example, the export value of LCD color analog TV receivers hits 190 million RMB, which has increased 2.8 times. The export value of tablet PC reaches 17.61 million RMB, an increase of 36.3 times

　　The benefit of free trade zone is prominent and the total value of six enterprises’ foreign trade is on the increase.

　　Since the foundation of the Yichang Free Trade Zone on April 1st, the total value of foreign trade has hit 190 million RMB, an increase of 12.3%, of which six enterprises’ foreign trade is on the increase.

　　The main import products in Yichang Free Trade Zone are instruments and its components, cotton products, halogenated butyl rubber. The import value of instruments and its components reaches 56.88 million RMB, an increase of 1.2% compared with the same period of the year. The import value of cotton products hits 23.261 million RMB, an increase of 87.6%; however, the import value of halogenated butyl rubber is only 11.771 million RMB, a decrease of 14%.

　　Circular saw web, components of generator sets, piano and its components are the main export products of Yichang Free Trade Zone. The export value of circular saw web reaches 26.613 million RMB, an increase of 7.6%. The export value of components of generator sets hits 16.235million RMB, which has decreased 35%. The export value of piano and its components mounts to 14.55 million RMB, an increase of 31.3%.
