The E-business Helps the Agricultural Products of Yichang Head Nationwide

  Recently, the reporter learned from Yichang Supply and Marketing Cooperatives that the early-maturing “Yichang honey-sweet orange” is on the list of the “Thousand Products Plan” of Supply and Marketing e-Family—E-commerce Platform and it is the first agricultural product of Hubei Province that is chosen by this plan.

  The “Thousand Products Plan” is a large-scale nationwide search plan launched in May 2017 by the Supply and Marketing e-Family with the concept of “healthy, green, and traceable”. The chosen products will be displayed in over 200 provincial platforms organized by the Supply and Marketing e-Family.

  In recent years, with e-business enterprises as the core, peasants’ professional cooperatives as the base, village-level comprehensive society as the terminal, and to support backbone agricultural products as focus, Yichang Supply and Marketing Cooperatives increases the development of professional cooperatives and the development of professional cooperatives union, works hard to put forward the standard construction and management of production bases, to promote the standardized, scale-up and branding production of agricultural products, so as to create the hit products and cultivate the famous brands of “one county one product”. At the same time, they guide the professional cooperatives and raising households or growers to build the reliable and traceable product safety system which suits the e-business, enhance the full process control of products and strengthen the market popularity and competitiveness of the products.

  At present, the supply and marketing system of Yichang City has founded or helped found 697 peasants’ professional cooperatives, of which 16 are National Demonstration Peasants’ Cooperatives, 24 are Provincial Demonstrations Cooperatives. They own 89 brands, and 301 products have received National Quality Certification. and the area of standard production bases amount to more than 200,000 mu. Such products as “Xiaoxihong mandarin orange”, “Hanway Agriculture”, “Jinguoguo”, “Nongfuxiangqing”, “Chusuixiang”, “Wacang Rice”, “and Wufeng Yinhao” have won great awareness in the market.

  According to incomplete statistics, up to the end of August, the supply and marketing system of Yichang City has sold agricultural and sideline products amounting to 879 million yuan through the channel of e-business, with a year-on-year growth of 16.99%, and the average selling price was over 15% higher than that of the offline sales. In the meantime, it also accelerated the substantial growth of the agro-product processing, logistics, rural tourism and so on, and helped peasants increase incomes by 3,000 yuan per capita.
