On October 13th, the "Alibaba Rural Taobao Project Launching Conference" was held in Yuan’an County. The conference mapped out the implementation the project "Rural Taobao" and the rural e-commerce business in the whole county. With the convening of the conference, Yuan’an County has officially caught the Alibaba Rural Taobao 4.0 Express. Two-way integration of "industrial products go to the countryside" and "agricultural products go to the cities" will be realized and the last kilometer difficulty will be well solved. Relevant staff from Alibaba Group and major leaders of Yuan’an County attended the meeting.
The project Alibaba Rural Taobao is an entrepreneurial platform provided for aspiring rural-based young people to start e-commerce services in rural areas. Compared with its previous 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, Alibaba Rural Taobao 4.0 will upgrade "County-Level Rural Service Station of Rural Taobao" into "T-mall Prestige Products Experience Center", creating a user experience-centered service system. Meanwhile, the project will highlight more innovative business. For instance, the scout for and cultivation of rural talents, online shopping and selling, long-distance medical services, etc. The cooperative project between the government of Yuan'an County and Alibaba Group will provide three major supports: firstly, to support the rural youth to start their service businesses in their hometown; secondly, to support training of the rural youth. The Yuan’an government and Alibaba Group will jointly offer perfect training to help the youth develop their service businesses. Thirdly, to support logistics. Cainiao (a logistics platform whose largest shareholder is Alibaba Group) will follow the whole journey of shipment and integrate county-level and village-level logistics to ensure village-level delivery of packages, solving the last kilometer problem.
It is reported that by December 2017, a county-level service center will be built in Yuan’an County, and more than 50 village-level Taobao service stations will be set up in different villages.
