A growing number of special industries like oranges and tea have offered abundant, safe, andhigh-qualified material to agricultural processing industries inYichang. On November 3rd, our reporter got news from Agricultural Bureau that in recent years, a hyper normal and leapfrog development has been seenin the industrial operations and product processing of our agriculture. Nine agricultural product processing demonstration zones have been built with a number of 450 enterprises in, over 60% agricultural product processing industries.There are 4 zones with an agricultural processing value of more than 10 billion yuan and 4 counties with that of 20 billionyuan.

　　In the first half of the year, the gross out-put of municipal agricultural products processing industry reaches 115.829 billion yuan, with anincrease of 14.5% yearly. The ratio between the gross out-put of the agricultural products processing industry and gross output value of agriculture is 3.3:1. Meanwhile, agricultural products processing industries have taken a bigpart in the export of goods in Yichang. According to the statistics given by Yichang Customs, in 2016, the export agricultural goods, with oranges, fruit cans, aquatic products which playa leading role, has reached a volume of 170 thousand tons, earning a foreign exchange of 2400 million dollars. Yichang’s comprehensive strength in agricultural product processing industries has topped the list of Hubei province while the agricultural product processing has been takenan increasingly important role in the development of agriculture and rural area.
