Visiting the First National Phosphorus Chemical Recycling Industrial Park
2017-12-04 08:59:53

Before Edition: The leader of Yichang chemical industry, Xinfa Group, is the biggest fine chemical industry nationwide, also well-known in the world.

In the recent 20 years, while being committed to the development of Yichang, Xingfa Group has also brought much pressure to the ecological protection amid its overcapacity and high emission.

At the 19th National Congress of Chinese Communist Party, our leader has given a speech on addressing the serious environmental problems, saying that “we must improve the standards for pollution emission and help polluters to take more responsibility. Enterprises must take a leading role in the environmental protection participated by the public in our society. ”

Volunteering to take actions to face the challenges, Xinfa Group has speeded up its steps for transformation and upgrading, thus becoming a model of cycling economy nationwide. Recently, our reporters visited Xinfa Group to find out the secrets for their successful transformation.

On November 13th, Xinfa Group Yichang New Material Park turned the wasted into useful materials with one of its applications.

“We used to let the wasted water into sewage disposal works, but the phosphorus in the wasted water would be of no value. Now we are using the sewage to extract and purify sodium pyrophosphate, which could increase a yearly income of 60.000.000 yuan. ” said deputy manager of the chemical park Li Fahua.

The park, covering an area of 4000 mu, is the first phosphorus chemical cycling industrious park. And start of this project means the park has increased new cycling industry.

It is introduced that Xingfa Group has built a new park in Xiaoting county of Yichang city in 2004. At that time, the company only planned a single caustic soda production line. However, the wasted gases like chlorine were hard to dispose. While the phosphorus dichloride contained in chlorine is the raw material to produce glyphosate, thus the company increased the glyphosate production line.

When coming to the glyphosate production park, we were impressed by the spotless clean park featuring crossing pipelines linked to sealed-in equipment.

Li Shubing is deputy manager of Xingrui chemical factory, a subsidiary of Xingfa Group. According to his remarks, Xingrui began to produce glyphosate in 2007, and the wasted gas chloromethane produced from which need to be transported to Jiangshu and Zhejiang area to have a bio-safe disposal by local companies.

“It means that we offer those companies with raw materials and we pay for the their technology.” According to Li’s estimation, the yearly production of chloromethane at that time was 60,000 tons, and the transportation fee per ton was 1.500 yuan. For only one item like this project would cost them 90 million yuan every year.

To change this situation and reduce the spending, Xingfa Group started organic the silicon monomer project. Combining the silica resource from the local with chloromethane to produce organic silicon monomer, Xingfa created a new industry out of nothing.

Entering the first gate of Area A, we witnessed 13 columns standing in line like harps with the height of four floors. Li told us that those columns were equipments for organic silicon monomer. Something like alcohol-contained dilute acid and concentrated hydrochloric acid produced during the process of producing can be recycled and taken as the raw materials for glyphosate, thus they made the park a closed loop.

In recent years, with the extension of the park industrial chain and the recycling of scrape materials, Xingfa has achieved industrial chain recycling within one park, which is ahead of others nationwide. And this chain could help the group achieve clean production and maximize resource utilization at the same time.

Waste residues and silicon pulp took lots of time and energy to deal with in the past. However, with application of hydrolysis technology, they could be recycled and used to produce materials used for building construction.

Waste residues and muriatic acid used to sell to other companies at a pretty low price. And sometimes other companies even refused to buy those. Now they can be used to produce snow-melting agent, which can dispose of 160 thousand tons of wasted muriatic acid.

There were 13 industries in the park, and they link to each other through pipelines, with which they convey raw materials and the wasted. Reporters find it hard to see heavy vehicles apart from a few used to transport solid waste.

Small circulation inside the park; large circulation inside the industry. The disposed waste water of Xingfa is transported to Huarun thermoelectricity to be used as cooling water, and a great amount of hydrogen given raised by chlor-alkali plants is transported to Nanbo Group and Yihua Group to be reused.

Xingfa fine Chemical Park can save the cost of more than 100 million yuan through industrial circulation, while the net margin of Xingfa Group has registered a yearly growth of 208%.(Hubei Yichang Interviewing Group: Tong Xie; Xiong Chen; Liang Jianyi)
