On December 3rd, the Yichang City Management Committee and the Yichang Administrative Bureau of Landscaping released the first batch ofpilot scenic spots of the "Leave the Fallen Leaves Uncleaned" program, whichincludesfive parks and eight roadsections in the downtown area. Fallen leavesin these areas will not be cleaned in order to let the public enjoy theirbeauty and retain the autumn appeal of this city.
After preliminary discussion, research and field work, relevant departments of our city chose eight sections on seven roads and in five parks aspilot sites of the"Leave the Fallen Leaves Uncleaned" program. The seven roads are Yanjiang Avenue, Dongshan Avenue, Chengdong Avenue, Daxue Road, Yingbin Avenue in Xiaoting District, Dongzhan Road, and the Pingyun 2ndRoad in Yiling Districtand the five parks are Binjiang Park, Yunhe Park, Mojishan Forest Park, Dongshan Park, Hexin Park and Songhu Park.
In the thirteen selected pilot sites of the "Leave the Fallen Leaves Uncleaned" program, the Yichang City ManagementCommittee and the Yichang Administrative Bureau of Landscapingwill,on the premise of ensuring safety and traffic,retain the fallen leaves of trees with ornamental value regularly, displayingtothe public the charming autumn and winterfoliage landscape and meetingthe public’s viewing needs of appreciatingautumn.
It is understood that the implementation of the "Leave the Fallen Leaves Uncleaned" program is restrictedto the above mentionedpilot streets and parks. In these areas, the roadwaysshould be cleaned in time, and fallen leaves on sidewalks, greenways and green belts will be retained during the viewing period. Cleaning work should be organized according to the principle of "cleaning trash ratherthan fallen leaves,sweeping after rainrather than on sunny days, sweeping timely when fallen leaves are not appealing, tidying the uneven thickness and cleaning upimmediatelyto prevent blocking sewers".
It is noteworthy that this pilot program has embodied humanistic care. In one discussion, representativesfrom the Yichang Photographers Association said:"Photography enthusiasts want to take some pictures of the cityinautumn, but it’s hard to do this because the leaves are swept up by sanitation workers."This concern has been paid attention to by relevant departments.

Within the greenery between Dongshan Avenue and Yiling Avenue, a sea of yellow ginkgoleaves dance in the airand under the trees, it’s golden everywhere. The ginkgo trees are surrounded by shrubs and flowers. When passing vehicles flow through, they are traveling in a dreamlike flower world.

You will certainly be satisfied with the delightful beauty of more than a dozen maples.
