It is learned from the Yichang investigation team of the National Bureau of Statistics(NBS) on December 5th that the city's urban consumer price index (CPI) in the first three quartersroseby 0.7%, an increase of 1.6 %overthe same period of last year.
Compared with the same period of last year, the total retail price index fellby 0.1%. Prices of eight categories of goods presented a“five ups and three downs” trend, among whichclothing price dropped by2.2%, housingpriceby 0.2%, daily necessities and service pricesby1.1%, while the prices of food, tobacco and alcoholrose by1.3%, transportation and communication prices by1.1%, education, culture and entertainment prices by1.2%, health care price by4.6%,and prices of other supplies and services of 1%. In the first three quarters, the city's resident incomesadvancedsteadily. Compared with the same period of the previous year, the disposable income of urban residents was up to 21,929 yuanper capita, an increase of 8.62%and that for the rural residents was 10,669 yuanper capita, an increase of 9.17%.
