"The tea enterprises of Yichang are large in volume and the tea is good in quality and various in categories, which are in line with the consumption demand of Shanghai residents." Based on the present status and features of tea industry in Yichang, Wang Mugen and others suggested that Yichang tea should make efforts to create its regional brand, corporate brand and product brand through unifying brands. What’s more, leading tea enterprises should drive SMEs to fight together and expand the visibility of Yichang tea in Shanghai by launching a wealth of marketing methods, so as to enter and firmly occupy the Shanghai market as soon as possible.
Wang Youhai pointed out that Yichang tea industry had three major advantages: First, the unique ecological environment in the Three Gorges Reservoir area had gave birth to the distinctive special quality of Yichang tea; Second, large-scale tea enterprises with complete processing equipment and advanced technology ranked the forefront of prefecture states in the country; Third, Yichang was the original birthplace of "Yichang black tea", one of the three traditional black tea in Chinese history and it was also an important pitch-point city of "Wanli Tea Route" with profound tea culture and long history. Therefore, Yichang tea enterprises should enhance self-confidence and seek development bravely.
Both sides stated that, in accordance with the counterpart support requirements of "resource sharing, complementary advantages, long-term cooperation and common development", they would strengthen communication and cooperation and make full use of their respective superiorities to jointly promote "Yichang tea entering the Shanghai market", so as to realize a win-win goal that there was no worry in selling the tea of reservoir area and Shanghai citizens could drink good tea. In addition, they would advance the development of the characteristic tea industry in the Three Gorges reservoir area hand in hand, thus achieving the stability and prosperity of the migrants in the reservoir area.(Reporter: Jie Xing Wei; Correspondent: Lv Min)
