Yichang Becomes One of Top Ten Health Cities in China

  On January 9, the news conference of First session “China’s Top Ten Health Cities” was held in Luofu Mountain Huizhou, Guangzhou province. Ten cities were granted this title of first session, and Yichang ranks among them.

  The selection covered more than ten indexes, including government’s attention, air quality, forest coverage, water resource protection and utilization, average life expectancy, economic development, pension and social security, health and education and level of regimen. Meanwhile, a reference was made based on the comprehensive evaluation of awards the cities won from each national assessment on health and longevity, human settlement and other aspects. At last, experts took secret ballots and unveiled the result online. The other nine granted cities respectively are Hezhou, Huizhou, Yichun, Changde, Xingyi, Yangzhou, Xuchang, Weihai, and Leshan.

  Liu Changxi, vice chairman of the Selection Committee of Experts, Professor of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and deputy director of the Health Preservation Research Institution commented that the selection of “China’s Top Ten Health Cities” is dynamic, and that these cities will be reviewed in the future.
