On Jan. 9th, good news came from Huanghua Town of Yiling District that the construction of the first Cultural Museum town in Hubei Province will begin in the near future. With the former East Lake Cement Factory site as the center, some Parks and Museums will be built in Huanghua Town. For instance, the Jindingzi Geo-Expo Park, Chuan-Han Railway Site Park, Huanghua Cultural Expo Park, and Paleontology Fossil Museum. This is a key step for Huanghua Town to promote the integration of culture and tourism and to help rejuvenate the countryside.

　　Since the 1980s, the building material industry of Huanghua Town, with the stone mining and cement bricks and titles at its core, has shown a booming trend. However, it has caused great damage to the local ecological environment though with the rapid growth of GDP. So it is imminent to promote the rural revitalization and the industrial transformation.

　　The cultural tourism resources of Huanghua Town are very abundant, the cultural relics of which have reached 19. And some of them, such as “Jingdingzi” of Huanghuachang Village, "Xinping 715 Third Line Construction" site and Resistance against Japanese invaders Memorial Park in Nanbian Village, are very famous. After extensive research and comprehensive argument, Huanghua finally established the integration of the development of tourism and cultural transformation.

　　In order to implement the pollution control first, the town has closed the vertical kiln production line of 3 cement plant, 2 clay brick factories, 2 fertilizer chemical enterprises and, several stone lime mining and processing enterprises, and dismantled all the coal fired boilers. In the meantime, Huanghua Town has started the construction of 11 such rural tourism projects as the Grand Canyon of Nanjin Pass, the Eco-tourism Zone of Daliang Mountain, Tianyou Grand View Garden and the Rural Park in Juntianba Village of Shangyangkangyang Town.

　　While promoting the development of tourism industry, Huanghua Town is also deeply exploring and developing the culture industry. Based on the cultural relics, such as geology, the Third-Front Movement, the War of Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Three Kingdoms, Pan Gu, the Chuan-Han Railway Site and rural customs, the town will set up a project or start the construction of 10 cultural construction projects, such as the “Jingdingzi” Geological Park in Huanghuachang Village, the Resistance Against Invaders Memorial Park in Nanbian Village, the Nanxi Ancient Town, the Ancient Houses in Nanbian Village, the Ancient Fossil Museum and the comprehensive transformation of Cultural Museum Town.

　　The cultural tourism industry has become the new engine of economic growth in the town. Then in last March, the Three Gorges Qitan Rural Tourism Festival was successfully held; the Fuyu International Longboard Downhill Race was organized last May; the Country Park of Juntianba Village was opened last August. While bringing income to the scenic area, it also brings opportunities for local people to get rich. According to statistics of the last year, the revenue from the tertiary industry, mainly by the agritainment, increased by 60% over the previous year.
