　　According to reports, in 2017, facing the reservoir inflow flood with the speed of 30,000 cubic meters per second for 4 times, the Three Gorges Power Station strictly enforced the directive of Yangtze River Flood Control General Dispatch, communicated closely with the power grid, and retained the flood and shifted the flood peak by on-off operation and other measures, which not only guaranteed the primary function of flood control, but also maximally avoided the loss of water, effectively exerted the comprehensive benefits of flood control, power generation and shipping of the Three Gorges Dam. In 2014, the Three Gorges hydropower generating capacity reached 98.8 billion kWh, breaking the world hydroelectric power record of Itaipu Dam in Brazil for the first time.
