In order to further optimize the supervision and managing potency and improve the service level of the port, Yichang Customs and Yichang Maritime Bureau recently signed The Cooperation and Co-construction Agreement, aimed to give play to their respective advantages and jointly build a port supervision system with effective supervision, shared resources and coordinated law enforcement.
The Cooperation and Co-construction Agreement clarified the cooperation intention of the two departments in information sharing, collaborative management of water transport port, coordinated law enforcement, regular communication and other aspects. In the future, when the import and export volume and capacity of the Hubei section of the Yangtze River are seriously stagnant, caused by the backlog of a large number of barges for overhauling the Three Gorges ship lock, Yichang Customs will provide the information of qualified foreign trade ships and Yichang Maritime Bureau would give priority to foreign trade ships operating in Yichang port area. This move will not only strengthen the actual supervision, but also serve the enterprises, the time for the arrival of the downstream ships to Yichang port will be reduced by 3 days, which would greatly alleviate the stagnation phenomena of the foreign trade ships.
The signing of The Cooperation and Co-construction Agreement will play a positive role in further improving the Yichang port environment, promoting customs convenience and efficiency, jointly building a “safe, green and convenient” marine traffic environment, and enhancing sound and rapid development of local economy and society.
