In 2018 the first snow came at the same day when the second rural new yea’s shopping festival held. Enjoying the snow flowers and the bonfire, villagers in this three gorges region were busying in washing the swine and made banquets out of pork, which made people feel romantic.

　　The event was scheduled to be held from December 30th of 2017 to January 7th of 2018 for nine days. However the closing ceremony didn’t hold until January 14th because of the sudden snow. Many days in a row, nearly 5000visitors from Wuhan, Qianjiang, Jingmen, Jingzhou, and Yichang have experienced a series of activities such as washing swine, doing new year’s shopping, tasting authentic pork feast in the countryside at the scene. They had also organized tourism commodity sale activities, and donated income to the poor families of the Beimen village, so that the villagers can receive the benefits and care from the development of tourism. The event not only set off the winter tourism boom, but also created a strong New Year atmosphere for the tourists form other regions. (Correspondent: Liu Jianjun)
