Currently, with the “Opening Month for Major Projects” event as the vehicle and a focus on industrial projects, Yichang is starting a new wave of project construction and aiming to get off to a flying start. The city plans to start 46 major projects in January, with a total investment of around 21 billion RMB. For the first quarter, Yichang aims to open 133 major projects whose total investment is to reach 87.5 billion RMB.

　　On the commencement of Guangzhou Automobile Group’s passenger vehicle project in Yichang, many places as Wufeng, Yiling, Zigui and Yichang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone have also held their own kick-off ceremony. Yichang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Free Trade Area) plans to starts 8 key projects at the first phase, with an investment of 2.2 billion RMB while Zigui County aims to begin 6 major projects, with an investment of 793 million RMB in total. Yuanan, Xingshan, Wujiagang, Dangyang and Changyang plan to start a series of projects in this month. And Zhijiang schedules to collectively hold commencement ceremony in February, while Yidu and Xiling are set to do so in March.

　　The key project lists in relevant cities in January have all been released, forming a thriving prospect. Among the Category One counties, cities and districts, Yidu has 3 major projects, Dangyang 6, Yiling District 7, and Yichang High-Tech Industrial Development Zone 2; among the Category Two counties, cities and districts, Yuanan has 1, Xingshan 4, Zigui 2, Changyang 4, Wufeng 1; among the Category Three counties, cities and districts, Xiling has 5, Wujiagang 5, Dianjun 2, Xiaoting 4.

　　Among the newly opened industrial projects, some projects have a clear combined effect, driving effect and leading effect. With a total investment of 7.5 billion RMB and an annual investment of 2.5 billion RMB, Zhijiang Sanning ethanediol project is expected to achieve an annual production value of around 5 billion RMB, which will bring the industrial added value of 10 billion RMB for other relevant industries. As a supporting project for ethanediol project, polycarbonate project of Zhijiang Ganning Petrochemical has a total investment of 990 million RMB and is expected to achieve a production value of 2 billion RMB every year after its completion. These two projects will help to build Yichang as an important base for new chemical industry material in Hubei province.

　　The upgrade and transformation project for gasification energy saving technology in Yidu has a planned investment of 600 million RMB this year, and it adopts the most advanced and mature coal water slurry gasification energy saving technology in the country to build a synthetic ammonia equipment with an annual production capability of 290 thousand tons. It can provide synthetic ammonia material for Hubei Yihua Group, Hubei Xingfa Chemicals Group and other surrounding enterprises and can gain an annual sales income of 780 million RMB after its completion.

　　Dangyang Yuquan Temple cultural tourism area has a total investment of 3 billion RMB and an annual investment of 500 million RMB. It is expected to accept 3.4 million tourists every year after it is completed, with a ticket income of 350 million RMB and an overall tourist income of 1.52 billion RMB. It is also planned to make it to the National 5A Scenic Spot List in three years.

　　Meanwhile, there is also a range of key urban infrastructure projects including the lower section of Jiangcheng Avenue (from Yiqiao Road to Yichang Yangtze River Highway Bridge), Dianjun District underground comprehensive pipelines project, Yiqiao Road expressway transformation project. A range of ecological and environmental protection projects including Dangyang urban and countryside sewage treatment and Xingshan Shendu River sewage treatment plant will also kick off their construction respectively.

　　It is reported that Yichang will focus on the key point of the industrial project construction and prioritize the major projects in accordance to the campaign “to change work style and emphasize on the actual implementation”. It will also reinforce the supervision and evaluation work, build a governmental and commercial environment with the lowest coat, highest efficiency and best services and speed up the construction of the projects.
