January 7th, Aikebaier Mijiti, a member of CPPCC and former deputy director of the management committee of China Writers Publishing Group, led some 20 calligraphy and painting artists from all over the country to participate in the Belt and Road Cultural Journey—Yiling calligraphy and painting exhibition held in Yiling District.
With the theme of advocating the cultural spirit of the new era and passing on the traditional Chinese culture, this event is organized by Yiling District Party Publicity Department and Yiling District Cultural and Sports News Publishing Bureau. 20 calligraphers and painters from Beijing, Tianjin and Guangdong, including Aikebaier Mijiti, Xie Yongquan, Cheng Xiangzhao, Xu Dingyi, Zhao Hongyue, Wu Qishu and Zhang Xiongying, participated in the exhibition with a total of 70 calligraphy and painting works.
Aikebaier Mijiti said that artistic creation should be rooted from and designed for serving the general public, and this exhibition is a concrete statement of the artists practicing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Party. And he believed that the calligraphy and painting works would bring a spiritual and cultural feast for the people in Yiling and would also improve Yiling District’s cultural exchange quality in terms of calligraphy and painting.
In recent years, after fully implementing the development strategy of building a strong cultural district, Yiling District has substantially improved its spiritual and cultural environment for both the residents in the city and countryside. This exhibition is designed to serve as an opportunity to build a bridge for cultural communication in Yiling District, and would attract more artists to visit Yiling and also spread the colorful Yiling culture to the outside world, making it an ambassador for Yiling.
