“It is so convenient to do taxes only by scanning your face, which saves all the trouble to carry all the documents like Taxation Registration Certificate and a copy of the ID card,” said Chen Yang, the accountant of the Yuan’an Dingzan Decoration Material Company when he experienced the facial recognition taxation service in the taxation office on the 12th January. With the help of the staff, he verified his identity via facial recognition in less than 10 seconds and quickly got a queue ticket, which allowed him to complete all the tax-related businesses including permission to issue the invoice in less than 5 minutes. And it used to take 10 minutes to finish all these things.
It is informed that real-name taxation has been fully implemented since January 1st. Before that, people were required to bring all the relevant documents including the copy of the ID card and Tax Registration Certificate and submit all of them when doing the tax. After the implementation of the real-name taxation, for those whose real-name information has already been collected, they do not have to repeatedly submit the relevant identification documents; they can do their tax by the facial recognition system with their own ID cards, which effectively reduces the burdens on taxpayers and grassroots tax officials.
The real-name taxation is an important measure to deepen the reform of delegation, regulation and service, according to relevant officials of the Yichang Municipal Office, SAT. It would not only make it easier and more comfortable for taxpayers to go through taxation processes and protect their lawful rights, but also effectively prevent and crack down tax-related illegal acts including fake invoices, identification theft and invoice fraud.
As of now, more than 108 thousand tax payers have done the real-name information collection, with an authentication pass rate of over 98%. For those who have not done the collection, they can do so on site when they come to do the taxation, or they can register their own real-name information through WeChat, Alipay or Taxation to Enterprise app and other digital tax payment platforms.
