It was learned by reporters on Jan. 17 that the first batch of lithium battery production equipment with a value of 66 million RMB of Hubei Jiangsheng New Material co., LTD., was released successfully at Yichang customs. Benefiting from the China and South Korea Free Trade Agreement, tax deduction of the batch of imported equipment amounted to 3.861million RMB.
Hubei Jiangsheng New Material co., LTD. was a project of new energy lithium battery introduced by our city in 2017, with a total investment of 1.97 billion RMB. Yichang Customs established the project as the “golden key” focused on supporting local economic development and set up a special work team in charge of the commissioner, which got actively intervening and intercommunication from the early stage of project operation. In order to ensure the smooth progress of the project, Yichang Customs officers went to the scene many times to conduct research and publicize policies and regulations to help enterprises acquaint with the customs clearance process. After learning that the project had two batches of equipment imported from South Korea, Yichang Customs recommended that enterprises enjoy the tariff reduction policy under the China and South Korea Free Trade Agreement by applying for the certificate of origin. While equipment of this project going through the customs, Yichang Customs also applied the national customs clearance integrated mode through the local declaration in Yichang and examination at Shanghai port, which effectively saved the customs clearance time and logistics costs.
This year, Hubei Jiangsheng New Material co., LTD will gradually purchase lithium battery production equipment from South Korea and Japan with a total value of 420 million RMB. Yichang Customs will continue to provide support and services to help enterprises to enjoy the dividend policy with maximum efforts to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
