On Jan. 18, a good news came from Beijing that Yichang won the title of Model City of China Smart City in 2017 at the 8th China Smart City Conference in 2018. And Yichang was the only city that won the prize in Hubei province.

　　Since Yichang was identified as the pilot of National Smart City, the municipal government has issued a three-year action plan (2016-2018) for the accelerating the construction of Smart Yichang. Yichang took the lead in establishing a city-level cloud computing center among the same class cities in the whole country. It also took the lead in building a smart government system covering four levels of cities, counties, and villages, a social governance system covered by a smart grid and a smart livelihood system with people-oriented

　　The conference was jointly hosted by the Smart City Working Committee of China Law Association on Science and Technology and China Smart City Forum. A sharing session titled “Promoting the Integrated Development of New Type of Smart Cities in Yichang by mechanism innovation” was also held by Yichang City.
