The third Guanzhuang Laba Folk Fair in Yiling District held in Guanzhuang Xiaoxita Street from January 19th to 21st. Laba festival is a traditional Chinese holiday celebrated on the eighth day of the twelfth month of the lunar Chinese calendar. It was a time for the ancient Chinese to pray to heaven and earth that there would be a bountiful harvest.
The temple fair of this year was co-organized by Yiling district committee, district government, Xiaoxitastreetoffice, district tourism administration, district agricultural administration, district bureau. Taking the regional advantages and promoting the traditional folk culture, the temple fair aimed to make innovations in ideas, thinking models and measures to dog into the essence of the traditional culture and add up activities to celebrate the festival.
The temple fair expands with five scenarios: our youth in the past, our grace in the old times, our past uniformity, our style at that time and blossom. Those scenarios reminded generations of their memories. Excellent performances given by Han custom performance, changing faces, clapper talk, skits and plays full of local practice gained the non-stop cheers.
At the site of the temple fair, a variety of snacks and goods sale exhibitions for New Year’s shopping allow the citizens to make the purchases of goods on their doorstep. Apart from drinking Laba soup, tourists can also taste the annual banquet made of fish for thousands of people. The atmosphere for the celebrating gets stronger.
Huang Guangxue, standing member of Yiling committee as well as minister of publicity of this district, stated that the development of blending agricultural industry and tourist industry adapt to therevitalizationstrategy in rural areas proposed during the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
