　　How can we take the regional advantages of Three Gorges of Yichang to make contributions to the transportation? The Municipal Transport Ministry did some researches and made a three-year development goal trying to support the construction of a strong city of Yichang with qualified transportation facilities, wise transportation service and efficient supervise. In the next three years, Yichang will make sure to reach 45 trillion yuan of transport fixed investments, aiming to reach 50 billion yuan. The mileage of expressways will reach 750 kilometers and the highway above second level will reach 4000 kilometers, the national and provincial highway of second level accounting for more than 85%. Yichang will also make sure that the framework that “one city with one port and one main body” will be made. Modern shipping industry will become the new engine for the development of Yichang by trying to achieving the aims of handling capacity and competence reaching 2 hundred million tons. The city is trying to build up national bus city in which public transport accounting for 60% of motorized travel.
