On Jan. 29th, Zakharenko, the academician of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, professor of Moscow Institute of Geodesy and Geometrics and expert of International Relations in Oriental Studies, with his team, came to Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County to investigate Wufeng Ancient Tea Road and the 10000 - Li Tea Road (Wufeng section), so as to apply for the World Cultural Heritage.

　　As a historical geographer, Zakharenko has been working for 30 years to collect historical and cultural geography information about Sino-Russian exchanges. Having learned about the declaration of the World Cultural Heritage of Wufeng Ancient Tea Road and the 10000-Li Tea Road (Wufeng section), Zakharenko held a special lecture on his international project --The Historical Geography Atlas of The Tea Road compiled by him. He explained that the compilation of the atlas aims at showing Chinese culture to the world, allowing more Russian friends to learn more about China, Hubei Province, and Wufeng, and they can have a look at the beautiful scenery in countryside if possible.
