129 Tourism Toilet will be Built This Year

  To develop tourism, we must make revolutions on toilets at first. It is reported that Yichang is going to launch “Tourism Toilets Revolution” which aims to newly-built or reconstruct 129 tourism toilets. With the idea of being green, environmental-friendly, recycle and wise, the designer of new toilets takes the need of a growing number of senior citizens and the extra help for infants into account, and devises the “third toilet” that is differ from men’s room and women’s room. Being committed to achieving the full coverage of tourism toilets which features standardization, wise and modernization in the scenic spots around the Yichang, the government tries to improve the building of tourism infrastructure and speeds up the construction of tourism in all sectors.

  Since 2015 when the “Toilet Revolution” started in Yichang, the government has made an accumulated investment of 1200 million yuan to build and reconstruct toilets for a number of 340, among which 117 toilets were built or reconstructed in 2017. Places like the sideways of main roads, scenic spots, transports are basically covered with the tourism toilets. The “Toilets Revolution” pushed forward by Yichang has been praised as a national model that topped nationwide by the National Tourism Administration, and the municipal Tourism Commission has been awarded by the provincial Commission for the promotion of the revolution. Administration department Qingjiang Gallery has won the prize for the management innovation while the department of Three Gorges Dam has been rewarded for the humanistic care.

  According to the introduction, Yichang will attach more importance to making up the shortcomings of tourism public services by starting from the trivial things that concern the citizens and tourists most and constantly intensifying soft and hard wares of tourism, so as to improve the tourism public services steadily. Apart from the tourism toilets, the government will also complete the infrastructure constructions such as the building of observation platforms, parking belts, sanitation facilities, landscape nodes, tourist courier stations and public signs along the 12 eco-landscape corridors which are under construction in the urban areas.
