The reporter learned from the city’s tourist work conference, which was held on February 6th, that in 2018,our city would take the tourist supply-side structural reform and global tourism as the starting point, focus on the development of quality tourism, concentrate its effortson tourism destination, tourismresort facilities, tourismpublic service construction, tourism theme image marketing of the city and optimization and remediation of tourism environment, andit planned to achieve 85.6 billion yuan in total tourism revenue, an increase of 20% over the same period, strived to buildthe tourism industry into the city’sindustry at the level of 100 billion Yuan and the happiness industry to meet the needs of people for the better life, and speedingup the construction of Three Gorges international tourism destination and the world's famous city of hydropower and tourism.

　　For the first time, the conference put forward the goal of striving to create a national brand of “Quality Tourism” and clearly defined the connotation of quality tourism. The connotation includes: quality tourism is able to meet the people's growing tourism life needs very well, and it is the tourism that can fully reflect the new development concept, the tourism which can promotethetransformation oftourism development pattern, product structural optimization and growth drive conversion, and it is the safer, more civilized, more convenient and happier tourism.

　　The conference required the city's tourism industry to benchmark the quality tourism standards, to vigorously cultivate the tourism brand which meets market demand and has influence, and to build a power city of Chinesetourism brand.To achieve such a goal, our city will continue to promote the tourism destination construction of China international water conservancy project and put forth ongoing effort onthe construction of Yichang Three Gorges national tourist resort, on supporting new tourism area whichspeedsup the buildingofthe tourism industries convergent area and on the brand image display area, so as to strive to successfully create 1 to 2 national global tourism demonstration areas.Besides, our city will strengthen the consciousness for the best, establish the in-and-out dynamic management mechanism of tourism brand and fully improve the Yichang quality tourism and national brand image. Moreover,our citywill accelerate the construction of major tourism projects and strive to invest 10.3 billion yuan within the year, thus adding new kinetic energy for the quality tourism development.

　　In order to solve the structural problem of the inefficient supply of tourism under the traditional scenic spots travelpatterns, ourcity, throughvigorously developingthe "tourism +",will proactively push forward the integration oftourism and multi-industries,such as culture, sports, agriculture, aviation, health and education, tobreed new formats, the new productsand new supply ofindustrial tourism, sports tourism, researchand studytourism, health tourism of traditional Chinese medicine, science and technology tourism and so on. At the same time, our city will focus on the strategy of "village revitalization", exquisitelyadvance pro-poor-tourism and people-enriching tourism projects,promote rural idlefarmhouse to bedeveloped intorural tourism and expandthe channels for increasing the income offarmers. Our city will organizethe pilot work of the national tourism residential rating evaluation at the municipal level,guide andconstruct the rural lodgings andleisure farms with distinctive characteristics, rich custom feelings,complete facilitiesandbeautiful landscapes, and vigorously develop non-standard hotels, rural innsand other emerging formatsof accommodation.
