At present, Yichang Gaoriling Livestock and Poultry Farming Cooperativelocatedin the banned area of the Paidu River,the tributaryofthe HuangbaiRiverin Fenxiang Town, Yichang District, has been dismantled.This is also the first demolition after the implementation of “Regulations forthe Protection of YichangHuangbaiRiver Valley”.

　　Yichang Gaoriling Livestock and Poultry Farming Cooperative have a total of 3 pig pens, with a200-square-meter sewage poolnext tothem. The farm can produce more than 800pigs at its peak. Since the farm is located at the endof the Shangjiahe Reservoir, it will directly affect the drinking water safety of urban residents once the reservoir is contaminated.

　　On February 16th, “Regulation for the Protection of Yichang Huangbai River Valley” has beenformally implemented, among which article twenty-six clearly stipulatesthat“the existing livestock and poultry farm and breeding areas in the bannedarea shall be relocated or demolished within a limited period of time by the county-level people’s government.” The Gaoriling Livestock and Poultry Farming Cooperative arejustlocated in the banned area of the Huangbai RiverValley.

　　“Eco-environmental protection is the trend of the times.” Though feelingdifficult to relocate thefarm, Yang Zhize, who is in charge of the farm, has given hisgreatest understanding and supportto the project, actively handling the livingpigs, pig houses and sewage tanks.
