On March 11th, the reporter learned from the Municipal Sports Bureau that the 2018 National Men's Weightlifting Championship will be held in our city in mid-April. The competition is sponsored by the Weightlifting, Wrestling and Judo Sports Management Centerof the General Administration of Sport of China, the provincial sports bureau and the municipal government.

　　The competition is expected to have 30 teams from different provinces and 600 people including 400 team leaders, coaches and athletes. It is understood that the overall plan for the competition will be completed this month and the press conference is under preparation.

　　The National Men's Weight-Lifting Championship is held annually and is the highest level event of men's weight-lifting. Athletes will compete for the snatch and jerk of 56 kg, 62kg, 69kg, 77kg, 85kg, 94kg, 105kg and 105+kg as well as the total score.

　　Yichang’s male weightlifters Tian Tao (85kg) and Zhang Jian (62kg) have been on the national team's training list since January to prepare for the Tokyo Olympic Games. They will come back to attend this competition. In addition, Yichang’s female weightlifter Wang Zhouyu (75 kg) is a on the training list of this competition.
