(Reporter: Huang Chunmei) Where are the schools then when so many housing estates spring up? Recently, the reporter interviewed Yichang City Bureau of Education and urban districts bureaus of education getting the reply that this year; they would renovate and extend a batch of schools and kindergartens in Yichang urban area to ensure a fair education of good quality for every child. To some extent, they believe this measure can help to relieve some problems such as "large size class" and "oversize class" owing to lagging school construction and enrollment difficulty of kindergartens.

　　This year, Yichang City Bureau of Education will launch the Action Plan for Three-Year- Pre-School Education: Phase III, formulate the special plan on public interest kindergartens and renovate and extend 20 kindergartens through the year, with the hope of reaching 93% gross enrollment rate in three-year-pre-school kindergartens and 82% coverage rate in public interest kindergarten. They will gather pace to construct new campuses of special schools and to build or extend 10 resource rooms for leaning in regular class as well as advance the characteristic pilot reform to build 20 creative labs in one year. Yichang City Bureau of Education decides to accomplish the project of improving compulsory education in poverty-stricken area with 300 million RMB.

　　In Xiling District, these schools will be reconstructed and extended: Gezhouba Experimental Primary School, Lvluo Road Primary School, Yichang Foreign Language Experimental Primary School (on Beizheng Road), meanwhile, these schools will be maintained and reconstructed: Yichang 16th Middle School, Yichang 24th Middle School，Dongshan Primary School and Liujiadayan Primary School.

　　In Wujiagang District, Huayan Primary School and Wujiagang Primary School will be relocated and put into use in fall semester; a batch of new schools such as Dongyan Road Primary School, Yuewan Road Primary School, Lianhe Primary and Middle School and Dongzhan Road Primary School will be under construction; the reconstruction and extension of Wanshouqiao Primary School will be finished within this year; the construction project for Baisha Primary School of phase two as well as Yihuaxintiandi Kindergarten and Yinxiangzuo’an Kindergarten will be implemented this year.

　　In Dianjun District, 130 million RMB will be invested to build 7 new schools and kindergartens including Wulong Primary School, Yichang Country Garden Kindergarten, and Yichang Country Garden Guanshanyue Kindergarten of Qingneng Real, Yichang Country Garden Haoting Kindergarten of Qingneng Real, Yichang Country Garden Yuyuan Kindergarten, Tangshanglongyue kindergarten and Hujingmingyuan Kindergarten. The 130 million RMB will also be used to reconstruct and extend 4 schools and kindergartens, i.e. Yichang 27th Middle School will be extended, the teaching building of Yichang 29th Middle School will be maintained plus a new-built dormitory building, a new general canteen building of Lianpeng Primary School will be constructed and its teaching building will also be maintained, the canteen and dormitory of Tucheng Primary School will be maintained and reconstructed.

　　In Xiaoting District, Xiaoting Experimental Primary School covering 14，000 square meters of its floorage will be constructed in 2019 with the budget of more than 30 million RMB.

　　In Yiling District, Xiaoxita 3rd Middle School and Xiaoxita 3rd Primary School will be reconstructed and extended soon, and the relocation of Yiling Experimental Middle School need be finished. Xiangyang Public Kindergarten and Longquan Public Kindergarten should be constructed within this year while Guojiawan Primary School is expected to be built in the selected location.

　　Shantou Road Primary School in Yichang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone should be constructed this year and Baiyang Central Kindergarten to be bought back, meanwhile, the continued project of the science and technology building of Yichang 19th Middle School, the canteen of Yichang 8th Middle School and outdoor court of Tumen Middle School will be implemented.
