On March 22nd, Yichang Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Developmentconvened a meeting with related functional departments as an active response to public concerns, aiming to accelerate this year’s first batch of 13 Smooth Traffic Projects. At present, the projects have basically been decided. Two pedestrian overcrossings will be built near the entrance of Dongshan Garden on Chendong Avenue and the crossroad of Chaoyang Road on Fazhan Avenue in Shiban village. The bus stops at No.3 Shengli Road(downward), Zhongxing Square(downward), and No. 10 Middle School will be transformed into harbor-style stops. Juxiang Road crossingon East Station Road and Jianghai Road crossing on Dongshan Avenue will be broadened. In addition, the microcirculation reconstruction project around Jiangshan Duojiao Community will be combined with the transformation of old communities so as to connect Jiangshan Jingyuan Community and Jiangshan Duojiao Community with BRT stops.

　　New Overpasses to be Built

　　The entrance of Dongshan Garden on Chendong Avenue and Fazhan Avenue in Shiban village are always regarded as congested by the public. The government plans to build overpasses to make it convenient for residents and ease traffic pressure. At present, the concrete construction plan is being optimized and construction will be in the charge of the Management Committee of the High-Tech Industrial Development Zone and the government of Xiling district. The projects will be completed by October 2019.

　　Three Bus Stops to be Renovated

　　The current stop of No.3 Shengli Road is to be canceled and a harbor-style stop, which will be separated by 1.5-meter-wide green belt, is to be built. For the Zhongxing Square Stop (downward), the right-turn lane of No.2 Shengli Road is to be combined with Central Hospital Stop and the right-turn lane will be expanded to connect with the road running south. The scheme increases the length of the road on which buses run into the stop, reducing their interweaving with the vehicles going straight forward. For the No.10 Middle School Stop, the roadside-type stop will be changed into a harbor-style one and replanting and relocation of existing trees and green belts will be avoided. The width of the bus lane is 4 meters and the length of platform is 30 meters.

　　Auxiliary Through Lanes to be Set up in Two Intersections

　　Two auxiliary through lanes are to be set up in Juxiang intersection on East Station Road and the Dongshan Avenue side of Jianghai Road intersection. The two projects are scheduled to start in June and finish in August.

　　Funeral Parlor Section on Chaoyang Road to be Repaired

　　Repairing work for the funeral parlor section on Chaoyang Road has been started and is scheduled to complete before the Qingming Festival. Up to now, the maintenance of 3.6 kilometers’ pavementhas been completed. The temporary parking lot opposite the cremation hall, which can provide 40 temporary parking spaces, has been completed, and the road signs and signage will be installed.

　　Street Lighting Control Facilities to be Installed in Xiling District and Wujiagang District

　　Schemes of the street lighting control facilities in Xiling district and Wujiagang district are being refined. Lighting control facilities are to be installed at the gates of the Second Hospital, No.16 Middle School, Foreign Languages Primary School of Xiling district, the Public Security Bureau on Chengdong Avenue and Bali Xiangsong Community on Chengdong Avenue and at the Yunji Road junction on Kanglong Road and Changji Road junction on Chengdong Avenue.
