　　It is learned from the relevant person from the Municipal Transport Bureau that the current meter-counting range cannot meet the needs of urban development, for passengers to the Three Gorges Airport, Three Gorges Logistics Park and other places need to negotiate priceswith their taxi drivers, which may easily lead to conflicts between them.In order to solve this problem, the Bureau has adjustedthe taxi meter pricing range. After surveying and mapping, the current taxi metering range is approximately 87.4 square kilometersandbasically covers the contiguous built-up area of Yichang City about385 square kilometers, whichis 4.4 times of current metering.

　　It is reported that after the adjustment, taxi drivers must do the meter-countingwhenoperating within the scope of themetering, and are no longer allowed to negotiate with passengers about prices; otherwise, the management department will seriously punish themaccording to the law. However, if the passenger’sdestination exceeds the scope of the metering, both parties can negotiate about the price.
