On April 17th, the Independent Third Party Institutional Competitiveness Think Tank and The Credit Committee of China Information Industry Association in the charge of National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the Monitoring Report on Building a Moderately Prosperous Society in China 2017(hereafter referred to as Report). Based on the open and authoritative data, the Report monitored 653 cities from 31 provinces (autonomous administrative regions and municipalities)in such five fields as economic development, people’s lives, cultural construction, ecologic environment and social governance, forming a series of well-off evaluation index.
The Report indicates that the general well-off index in China, which has risen for seven years in session, is approximately 97.00 in 2017 and is close to the expected point of general well-off index (The general well-off index and well-off sub-index all take 100 as the expected point).
11 cities in Hubei are on the Top 100 list this time, among which are 8 cities with the general well-off index above 97. The city with highest general well-off index is Wuhan, which reaches 123.21. There are 6 cities in Hubei among the Top 100 general well-off index of the prefecture-level cities, namely, Wuhan, Yichang, Xiangyang, Jingzhou, Ezhou and Huangshi. And as for the Top 100 general well-off index of the county-level cities, five cities in Hubei are listed, namely, Yidu, Daye, Dangyang, Xiantao and Zaoyang.
