Limitations on Foreign Teachers’ Academic Qualifications Canceled

  China (Hubei) Free Trade Zone Yichang Area officially put forward its local standards of incentive measures of the Points-basedGrading System of Permit for Foreigners Working in China on May 1st, which makes it easier for foreign talents to work in Yichang. For the non-linguistic foreign teachers’ qualification permits, academic qualifications are no longer required for those who apply for non-language posts.

  Different evaluationsystems of academic qualificationare employed in Chinaand the other nations due to respective cultural environment. And it’s very common for many elites of low education background succeed in their entrepreneurship. In the past, they were often rejected when introduced as talents into China because of their inadequate academic qualifications. Now the restriction has been canceled in the Free Trade Zone of Yichangas a pioneer at home.

  The Management Committee of Free Trade Zone Yichang Area has issued policies based on its own needs as well as the local standards of the Points-based Grading System of Permit for Foreigners Working in China of Hubei province.

  Further “Two Restrictions” were relaxed in Yichang on the basis of the points-based standards of Hubei province. One is to ease restrictions on requirements for teachers’ qualifications. Theforeigners“who apply for no vocations of language teachers but have obtained international vocational certificates in professional fields or related contest awards” will be awarded 5 extra points, and they don’t have to obtain relevant qualifications and are encouraged to work in Yichang as long as they can meet the requirements of schools in Yichang. The other is to reduce limits on foreigners studying in China and encourage foreign students from all over the country to start a business or find a job in Yichang.
