At 9:00 on May 5th, several beautiful policewomen from the entry-exit management detachment under Yichang’s Public Security Bureau appeared on time at the service windows, ready to serve those who apply for entry-exit certificates. From that day on, the detachment will as a rule work an extra shift on Saturdays.
According to reports, May 3 is the first Saturday on which the police implement the practice of certificate service on non-work days for those office workers after the National Bureau of Immigration announced the ‘one-stop service’ system for passports and other entry-exit certificates since May 1. Besides, the detachment has also been working extra hours at peak times and at staggered shifts on holidays.
“I’ve learned through the official WeChat of Yichang Public Security Bureau that the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Yichang has introduced the ‘Saturday certificate service’, so I take my son here to apply for a Hong Kong and Macau Pass on Saturday. Without such convenience, we have to apply for leave from my work unit and his school.” said Ms Wu.
It is understood that in the past, the entry-exit permit hall of the Municipal Affairs Service Center was open on weekdays, which coincide with the time when most people go to work and students go to school. (Reporter: Gong Changjun; Correspondent: Peng Weiwei)
