Strict Measures Taken to Regulate Urban Taxi Industry

  On May 6th, the reporter learns from the Municipal Road Transport Administration, a special rectification movement has been launched in order to regulate the urban taxi industry, which started from May 2nd and will last for one month.

  Thisspecial movementwill focus on punishing illegal operations, such as carpooling, cheating passengers, refusing passengers, not charging according to the designatedprices, not chargingaccording to the new pricing scope, and nottaking initiative togivepassengers invoices, and so on.

  The rectification will be carried out in various forms such as road inspections by law enforcement officers, collecting passenger complaints, undercover investigation, etc. Any violations of laws and regulations will be severely punished. The violating drivers should go to theclasses organized by the taxi sub-bureau, and have to pass the exam before obtainingthe permission to return to work; for those drivers who conduct serious violations, scoreswill be deducted in their integrity assessment, or theirqualification certificate will be revoked; theirnames will be put in the “black list”, then taxi companies cannot continue to employ thosedrivers to engage in taxi operations.
